The smoothie’s name takes inspiration from Pasta Negra. But unlike the pasta, I DON’T use ink squid. (^___^)
Sweet tooth along with the need for my choco-fix has me tossing the following into the blender: banana, avocado, dates, flax seeds, ice cubes, almonds,* and PLENTY of cacao nibs.
Yup, cacao is the dominant flavor and the dates provides some sweetness. Smoothie Negra is bitter-sweet, just the way I like it. (*___*)
*The almonds are soaked in water for about 30 minutes. This—including the water used for soaking—and the banana are my usual based-ingredients for smoothies.
